Vic: Former lodger murdered child in bed: court told

MELBOURNE, Feb 5 AAP - An accused murderer was caught by "cold case" detectives 20
years after he killed a six-year-old girl in her bed, the Victorian Supreme Court heard
today.
The jury was told that the body of Bonny Clarke was found by her mother on the morning
of December 21, 1982.
She had been sexually assaulted, smothered with a pillow and stabbed in the chest with
a knife, said Crown prosecutor Julian Leckie, QC.
