Fed: No decision yet on war with Iraq - PM=2
Opposition foreign affairs spokesman Kevin Rudd said he was surprised by reports Australiawas preparing for war in Iraq and he expected Labor to be informed if the US requestedAustralian involvement.
"If such a formal request had been made and I'm sceptical about whether such a requesthas been made, then it would be the prime minister's obligation in the first instanceto inform the leader of the opposition and that hasn't occurred," he told Seven Sunrise.
"And I assume therefore that no request has been made.
"The PM though ... did foreshadow the possibility of Australia contributing an armedbrigade to any Australian military involvement in Iraq, something which the oppositionhas been deeply sceptical from the beginning."
