NSW: Divers to join search after woman found dead
SYDNEY, April 13 AAP - Police investigating the shooting murder of a woman in Sydney
will today search a nearby waterway for the weapon used to kill her.
The body of the woman, who was aged in her 30s, was found by a motorist about 11.50pm
(AEST) yesterday in the middle of a road in the industrial area of Arndell Park, police
said.
She had multiple gunshot wounds to her head and body.
Blacktown police Acting Superintendent Kerry Doherty said forensic and homicide officers
would be joined in the investigation by police divers.
"We're going to carry out an extensive search of the surrounding area, in an effort
to locate a weapon or any other evidence that is connected with the crime scene," Supt
Doherty said.
"At some stage later today, we will request the attendance of police divers as there
is a watercourse out there that also needs to be searched."
