NSW: Missing toddler returned home safety

SYDNEY, Aug 10 AAP - A 15-month-old toddler has been returned safely after going missingfrom his western Sydney home for 24 hours.

Police held grave fears for the safety of Taro West, who was last seen by his motherat their Saturn Way, Doonside, home about 8.30am (AEST) yesterday.

He had been in the company of 21-year-old man.

Inquiries revealed the pair boarded a city-bound train at Doonside about 10.10am (AEST),but were not spotted again.

The man returned the boy to his home shortly before midday today before leaving thescene, police said in a statement.

The toddler is now being medically assessed.

Police hope to talk to the man regarding the circumstances surrounding the toddler'sdisappearance.
