NSW: Palm oil protesters aping orangutans at Nestle HQ
Activists dressed as orangutans were among the suits heading into Nestle's Sydney headquarters
this morning.
About eight Greenpeace activists dressed up as part of a global campaign on Earth Day
to protest against the use of palm oil in many of Nestle's products.
Greenpeace spokesman STEPHEN CAMPBELL says Nestle's use of palm oil spells disaster
for the world's last remaining rainforests .. and the shrinking of the rainforest threatens
Indonesia's orangutans .. which live in the tree tops of the forests.
Today's protest was an attempt to engage with Nestle staff at the company's Australian
headquarters in the Sydney suburb of Rhodes.
