NSW: One dead, one injured after light plane crash: police

Police say one man's dead and another's injured following a light plane crash in rugged
NSW terrain.

The single-engine Cessna left Mudgee yesterday en route to Glen Innes .. flown by a
38-year-old man with a 32-year-old male passenger on board.

The pilot was able to radio an approximate location of the crash site yesterday.

The upturned plane was spotted on the side of a steep ravine in The Great Dividing
Range near Merriwa in the Upper Hunter at about 10 (AEDT) this morning.

Police say the 32-year-old passenger was found dead at the scene.

The pilot's in a stable condition with leg injuries and is expected to be airlifted to hospital.
